Ignite Summit 2010
Childrens Ministry Summit October 6, 2010 Grove City Church of the Nazarene
God is moving like electricity and looking for people to move through. This is the CURRENT. God is moving. Are you in the flow? Do you feel His power? Come and be directed and filled. Join the flow of God’s power to impact the next generation.
Ignite Summit 2010 is not like other conferences... it is run by Nazarene childrens ministry leaders for Nazarene childrens ministry leaders. It is a more intimate setting that allows for serious personal attention to individuals looking to grow and be renewed. On Wednesday, October 6, MVNU is sponsoring a one-day conference option for regional churches. This day will provide an incredible event for leaders who desire to make a difference in the lives of children and families for the long haul. This summit will provide a place for leaders to gather in a large group to hear from two of the nations preeminent childrens ministry leaders: Sue Miller and Jim Wideman.
SWO Childrens Ministries is providing 8 scholarships for churches who may have children's ministry leaders who would like to attend, yet need financial assistance. You may request scholarships by contacting Brian Richardson at brian@wccn.net. There is no limit to how many people you can send, however, scholarships are limited to one per church and cover the one-day conference registration, conference materials, and meals. You can find the Ignite Summit registration form at Ignite Summit
Kids Against Hunger
October 2, 2010On October 2, Nazarenes from all over Southwestern Ohio will come together to put our compassion into action. Thank you to the 265 people at district assembly who committed 2 hours of their time and $120 of their money to this project. Sunday, at Harrison Nazarene, 48 people committed. That number will swell to 60…and that from a church of less than 100!
Miraculous Math: 1 Person + 2 Hours + $120.00 = Food for 1 Child for 1 year
Frequently Asked Questions
1) What time on October 2? ---we don’t know yet...please block out the whole day. We’ll be running several sessions that day and your church will be given a time. 2) Where? The Kids Against Hunger Factory is moving to Milford as of today. We will give you precise directions when we have them. 3) How can my people afford the $120? Many of your people can write their own check for this without blinking an eye. But, there are folks who cannot,we understand that. These people can... get 10 people to give them $12 each...4 people to give them $30 each, etc...they can have a garage sale... they can sell something on craigslist or ebay…they can do projects for people to earn the money... they can give up eating out between now and then...the possibilities are only limited to your creativity. Please do not allow the fact that some may not be able to participate, to keep your church from feeding hungry people that day. 4) Can the young and old participate? Use your best judgement... kids can participate as long as they are old enough to hang in there for the 2 hours... it was tough for my seven year old to give attention for the full time... we gave him a job that did not slow down the line. Older people can participate as well... if they are concerned about completing the work, they can give their $120 to someone else to go in their place. The heavy lifting will be done by those who can. The other "work" we mention is simply standing at the assembly line and performing a task for the allotted time. It does not take strength, except to stand.
